VII. PENUTUP
Aku akan selalu berdoa kepada Roh Kudus penjaga Gereja agar kesesatan karismatisme segera dilarang Gereja. Aku juga berusaha memberikan pengertian dan pengetahuan kepada banyak orang (awam atau anggota hirarkhi) akan kesesatan karismatik. Aku harap tulisan ini membantu para pembaca untuk mengerti bahaya Karismatisme sehingga mereka bisa menjauhkan diri mereka, orang yang mereka cintai dan sesama saudara dalam Kristus dari kesesatan karismatisme.

[1] Dalam artikel berita kematian Florence Dodge tersebut dikatakan bahwa Dodge meminta agar para Katolik yang hadir dalam pertemuan doanya tidak ditumpangi tangan. Fakta ini berlawanan dengan kesaksian para Katolik Karismatik awal sendiri yang mengatakan bahwa mereka ditumpangi tangan oleh Protestant. Karena lebih banyaknya sumber, bahkan dari para Katolik Karismatik yang hadir sendiri, yang mengatakan bahwa memang para Katolik ditumpangi tangan oleh Protestant maka menurutku itulah yang lebih benar (bahwa Protestant menumpangi tangan umat Katolik).


[2] Berikut adalah kutipan dari Luther yang menunjukkan iman seperti apakah yang menyelamatkan menurut pendapatnya:
Faith is a living, bold trust in God's grace, so certain of God's favor that it would risk death a thousand times trusting in it. Terlihat bagi Luther sendiri bahwa iman yang membenarkan adalah iman yang didasarkan akan keyakinan akan kasih Allah, yaitu kasih Allah yang menyelamatkan, menghapuskan dosa dan membenarkan seseorang. Bagi Luther keyakinan bahwa dosa telah terhapus, diri sendiri telah terbenarkan dan terselamatkan adalah indikasi yang penting bahwa seseorang memiliki iman yang menyelamatkan. Keraguan akan terhapusnya dosa, status pembenaran/justifikasi dan status keselamatan seseorang menandakan bahwa imannya masih lemah, dan karenanya bukanlah iman yang menyelamatkan.

Tanggap mengenai berbahayanya doktrin Luther tersebut, Konsili Kudus Trent mendedikasikan satu bab mengenai "Melawan keyakinan sia-sia dari para bidat" di sessi enam (Dekrit Mengenai Justifikasi), bab 5:
THE COUNCIL OF TRENT
 
 CHAPTER IX.
 
 Against the vain confidence of Heretics
 But, although it is necessary to believe that sins neither are remitted, nor ever were remitted save gratuitously by the mercy of God for Christ's sake; yet is it not to be said, that sins are forgiven, or have been forgiven, to any one who boasts of his confidence and certainty of the remission of his sins, and rests on that alone; seeing that it may exist, yea does in our day exist, amongst heretics and schismatics; and with great vehemence is this vain confidence, and one alien from all godliness, preached up in opposition to the Catholic Church. But neither is this to be asserted,-that they who are truly justified must needs, without any doubting whatever, settle within themselves that they are justified, and that no one is absolved from sins and justified, but he that believes for certain that he is absolved and justified; and that absolution and justification are effected by this faith alone: as though whoso has not this belief, doubts of the promises of God, and of the efficacy of the death and resurrection of Christ. For even as no pious person ought to doubt of the mercy of God, of the merit of Christ, and of the virtue and efficacy of the sacraments, even so each one, when he regards himself, and his own weakness and indisposition, may have fear and apprehension touching his own grace; seeing that no one can know with a certainty of faith, which cannot be subject to error, that he has obtained the grace of God.

[3] Sesuai dengan Yakobus 1:13 Allah tidak pernah mencobai. Terjemahan doa Bapa Kami baik dalam bahasa Indonesia maupun bahasa Inggris, seakan-akan memang berlawanan dengan ayat Kitab suci tersebut (ie: "Janganlah masukkan kami kedalam pencobaan" / "Lead us not into temptation"). Namun ini hanyalah masalah terjemahan yang kurang memadai akan kata Yunani dari doa Bapa Kami tersebut. Katekismus sendiri mengatakan:
2846 This petition goes to the root of the preceding one, for our sins result from our consenting to temptation; we therefore ask our Father not to "lead" us into temptation. It is difficult to translate the Greek verb used by a single English word: the Greek means both "do not allow us to enter into temptation" and "do not let us yield to temptation."150 "God cannot be tempted by evil and he himself tempts no one";151 on the contrary, he wants to set us free from evil. We ask him not to allow us to take the way that leads to sin. We are engaged in the battle "between flesh and spirit"; this petition implores the Spirit of discernment and strength.

Sehingga terjemahan yang lebih tepat seharusnya adalah "Janganlah biarkan kami masuk kedalam pencobaan" untuk yang bahasa Indonesia. Aku biasanya pakai yang ini.

[4] Unsur-unsur kebenaran dan unsur-unsur pengudusan (ie: sakramen) memang ada diluar batas kelihatan Gereja Katolik. Namun unsur-unsur kebenaran dan pengudusan adalah karunia Allah bagi Gereja Katolik sehingga memang milik Gereja Katolik. Terlebih keduanya mengarahkan orang yang menerimanya untuk semakin bersatu dengan Gereja katolik:

[5] Diambil dari Dominus Iesus yang juga mengutip dari Redemptoris Missio:
Nevertheless, God, who desires to call all peoples to himself in Christ and to communicate to them the fullness of his revelation and love, "does not fail to make himself present in many ways, not only to individuals, but also to entire peoples through their spiritual riches, of which their religions are the main and essential expression even when they contain 'gaps, insufficiencies and errors'".27 Therefore, the sacred books of other religions, which in actual fact direct and nourish the existence of their followers, receive from the mystery of Christ the elements of goodness and grace which they contain.
